SILL

An old cream-painted sash window open on a dark computer desktop. Through it, at sunset, a robin with a worm stands over a nestling in a nest. A speckled fledgling stands on the sill outside, looking back in, and light from the window falls on the desktop below.

A window opens on your desktop and something falls out of it. It can’t fly yet. It stands on your real windows and rides them when you move them. Get it home, feed it, keep it away from the cat, and then let it go.

Download SILL Windows 10 or 11 · a 140 MB zip

Unzip it and open SILL.exe. The first time, Windows says it doesn’t recognise it: More info, then Run anyway.

It sits on top of whatever you have open. Your mouse goes through to your own apps everywhere except the window and the bird.

Sound on. Right-click the bird by the clock to start over or quit.
